Retired
Why are you a fire service volunteer?
I have been in the fire service over 40 years both as a career firefighter/paramedic and a volunteer. It has always been rewarding for me, and I enjoy helping others

Called to a child drowning with CPR in progress. While enroute to the hospital we got a ROSC and the child recovered without any deficits.
What contributions have you (and your department) made in your community?
Our department has an annual open house during Fire Prevention Week, and being in a small town all members are involved in public education. We participate in CRR [community risk reduction] in cooperation with our state fire marshal’s office. I provide fire inspections to local businesses.
