UL 217: Smoke Alarm Standards

The first line of defense against home fire injury, death, and property loss is proper smoke alarm placement, installation, and having enough alarms in each home. The NVFC and First Alert developed the training UL 217: Smoke Alarm Standards to inform fire department personnel of the updates to UL 217 (the standard for smoke alarms) and how to help your neighbors reduce the risk of suffering from fire incidents. This course is free for a limited time in the NVFC Virtual Classroom.
