Start Planning for Crash Responder Safety Week

Every few seconds, a responder puts their life on the line to aid crash victims and quickly clear crashes that could otherwise result in a secondary crash. Proper training as well as public awareness are keys to keeping responders safe at roadway incidents. Crash Responder Safety Week (CRSW) takes place November 2-6, with the theme “Slow Down, Move Over. Lives are on the Line!” Start planning now by taking these actions.

• Sign the 2026 CRSW Proclamation and help promote it.
• Register for the National Kickoff Webinar taking place November 2 at 1pm ET.
• Review the CRSW Outreach Toolkit available on the CRSW website to determine how your department can raise awareness of CRSW and roadway responder safety.
• Take free online traffic incident management (TIM) training and require all of your department’s roadway responders to do the same.
• Utilize the public outreach videos and graphics created by the NVFC to promote important safety messages in your community.
