Save the Date for the 2021 NVFC Recruitment & Retention Experience

Apply now for a stipend to the 2-day training conference

The National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC) will host its inaugural Recruitment and Retention (R&R) Experience on September 17-18 in Cleveland, OH. This interactive educational and networking conference is open to all volunteer firefighters and EMS providers nationwide, with sessions targeted toward department leadership and recruitment officers. Event registration will open soon, but the application period is now open for travel stipends.

The NVFC R&R Experience builds on the success of the health and safety focused NVFC Training Summit conference series. The new R&R focused event is an opportunity for fire and EMS personnel from across the country to participate in valuable classroom training as well as exchange ideas and best practices with their peers. Subject matter experts will lead sessions on key topics relating to volunteer staffing, including work-life balance, social media, marketing, fire department culture, leadership development, and teamwork. The registration fee for the Experience is $129, which includes two days of training from industry leaders, a networking reception with vendor expo, and most meals.

To help more first responders attend, a travel stipend is available for select attendees. Stipends will be awarded on a monthly basis, with application deadlines on the first of the month from June-August. The stipend will reimburse up to $750, which can include conference hotel room, round-trip economy airfare, cab/shuttle fare, mileage, and the event registration fee. Full details and criteria are available on the application form. To be considered eligible for the travel stipend, you must be a current member of the NVFC. Membership information and benefits can be found at www.nvfc.org/join.
