Why are you an NVFC member?
To receive important information about the volunteer fire service and to pass it on to other members of my department.

What is your occupation?
Retired USAF law enforcement & NYS senior gaming inspector

Why are you a fire service volunteer?
To help my fellow neighbors with important fire safety information and respond and train volunteer firefighters. Currently, I attend county, local, state, and federal meetings, receiving information to pass on to fellow volunteer firefighters and emergency responders.

What year did you join the fire or emergency services?
1979

What are your memorable moments as a firefighter or EMS provider?
Becoming fire chief and leading a well-trained department and providing great service to our community. We marched together in parades, attended many trainings and conventions, and presented the volunteer fire service as professional men and women who serve our community.

What contributions have you (and your department) made in your community?
Provide professional services, respond when requested, and maintain a well-equipped department.

What practices help you stay physically and mentally strong for your crew?
Make the fire service fun but safe, and to include families in all aspects of the fire service.
