NVFC and MissionCIT Partner to Help Departments Recruit and Retain Volunteers

MissionCIT offers an interactive two-day course on Retention & Recruitment Officer (RRO) Development. This training equips participants with actionable tools, processes, and best practice to successfully retain fire service volunteers and gain new members. MissionCIT is now partnering with the NVFC to provide even more insights and training to participants.

Anyone taking the RRO in-person course must now first take the NVFC’s on-demand Essentials of Volunteer Retention and Recruitment course as a prerequisite. Available for free in the NVFC Virtual Classroom, this self-paced study takes about an hour to complete and will provide participants with the background information they need to enhance their RRO experience. In addition, MissionCIT will purchase a one-year NVFC membership for any non-NVFC member that takes the RRO course. This offer applies to new NVFC members only, not renewals.

The next RRO course will be held April 18-19 in Rochester, NY, and is free of charge. Learn more and register. To request information about hosting an RRO course, visit this page. Stay tuned for announcements about additional course offerings throughout the year.
