The National Fire Incident Reporting System (NFIRS), the nation’s primary system for collecting fire incident data, is sunsetting on January 31, 2026. The transition to the National Emergency Response Information System (NERIS) is in full swing. NERIS is a modern, cloud-based platform built to give fire departments faster data collection, smarter reporting, and deeper analytics.
