In-Person – Wildland Fire Assessment Program (WFAP)

October 24 - October 25

The NVFC, in partnership with the U.S. Forest Service, offers an in-person training course to teach fire service volunteers how to properly conduct safety assessments for homes located in the wildland-urban interface and provide recommendations to residents to protect their property from wildfires.

Classroom Session (Saturday, October 24, 2026 – 0800-1200 PT)
You’ll learn the fundamentals of assessing a home and working with residents to make their property
more resilient to wildfires.

Hands-on Training (Sunday, October 25, 2026 – 0800-1200 PT)
Put it into practice! You’ll evaluate a home in the community to gain a better understanding of a home
assessment and put classroom knowledge into action.
