Autism Awareness for the Fire Service

Individuals diagnosed with autism are seven times more likely to have an experience that would require emergency services. The NVFC course Autism Awareness in the Fire Service aims to increase first responders’ awareness of what this community needs in the event of an emergency, including providing an overview of how symptoms of autism impact a person’s daily life and how to identify autistic traits when on an emergency call. This course is available free to all for a limited time in the NVFC Virtual Classroom.
