Apply for Ricochet Wildland + Technical Rescue Dual-Cert Gear

Ricochet and the National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC) want to help volunteer departments improve safety and effectiveness by providing the right gear for the real world demands of the calls they run. The October application period for the Ricochet PPE Award Program is now open, and eligible departments can apply for five sets of Ricochet Wildland + Technical Rescue Dual-Cert Gear.

To be eligible to apply, departments must meet the following criteria:

  • Annually respond to wildfires (includes grassfires/brushfires) and provide emergency medical and/or rescue services
  • Have at least one active NVFC member
  • Be over 50% volunteer; paid on-call is considered volunteer
  • Serve a population of 25,000 or less
  • Be located in the U.S. and legally organized under state law
  • Demonstrate a need for the gear

Ricochet Wildland + Technical Rescue Dual-Cert Gear is NFPA 1977 & 1951 compliant, lightweight, and has a single-layer design (no moisture barrier). Five departments will be selected to each receive five sets of gear (jacket and pant).

This is the third and final of three application periods in the Ricochet PPE Award Program. The August application period was for Ricochet Out Front™ Technical Rescue Gear, and September application period was for Ricochet Wildland Gear. Applying for and/or being awarded one type of gear does not make you ineligible to apply for another.

Learn more about the program and apply for five sets of Ricochet Wildland + Technical Rescue Dual-Cert Gear for your department by noon ET on October 30 at www.nvfc.org/ricochet.
