NEMSAC Seeking State/Local 911 Officials Representative

The U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is seeking applications for a State/Local 911 Officials Representative to serve on the National Emergency Medical Services Advisory Council (NEMSAC).

NEMSAC is composed of EMS, 911, and consumer representatives who provide advice and recommendations on issues affecting the nation’s EMS community. State and local 911 representation plays an important role in strengthening coordination between 911 and EMS systems while providing input to the Federal Interagency Committee on EMS (FICEMS) and the Secretary of Transportation on key EMS issues.

The selected representative will serve a two-year term. NEMSAC members are selected for their ability to represent the interests of the broader EMS community rather than any specific organization. The council meets quarterly, with meetings generally held virtually. Members serve without compensation. Complete application packets must include a resume or CV, two to four letters of recommendation, a short biography, a statement confirming eligibility, and a letter of interest indicating the applicant seeks to represent the State/Local 911 Officials sector.
