I joined the NVFC to have access to additional grants.

What is your occupation?
Medical/respiratory

Why are you a fire service volunteer?
I enjoy being able to assist my community in times of need.

What year did you join the fire or emergency services?
2004

What are your memorable moments as a firefighter or EMS provider?
The moments I love the most come from attending fire prevention at our elementary school. Remembering those as a child myself, recreating the core memories I have for my kids is awesome. Then seeing kids in public running up to me because they remember me showing them my fire truck. And the true, genuine “thank you” from someone you assisted, who is truly thankful for the help you provided.

What contributions have you (and your department) made in your community?
We have helped build a 4th of July celebration with another civic group. They provide fireworks and a live band. We provided water for a large-scale water fight.

What practices help you stay physically and mentally strong for your crew?
We encourage physical health and mental health; we will have debriefings after any large-scale call.
