Get Ready for Crash Responder Safety Week, November 17-21
October 28, 2025
Crash Responder Safety Week (CRSW) takes place each year to promote roadway safety during traffic incidents. This year’s event takes place November 17-21 with the theme “Responders Ahead! Reduce Your Speed as You Proceed.” Departments can do their part to increase responder safety at roadway scenes by taking traffic incident management training and getting slow down, move over messages out into the community. Here are resources to help.
Become a CRSW Ally in Action: Share how your organization is promoting CRSW.
Attend the CRSW Kickoff Webinar: Hosted by the Federal Highway Administration’s Traffic Incident Management Program, this webinar on November 17 will honor TIM responders, spotlight safety efforts taking place during the week, and feature messages from national leaders and on-the-ground responders.
Find Planning Tools on the CRSW Webpage: The National Operations Center of Excellence has resources and tools to help you participate in CRSW, including the week’s daily themes.
Take Traffic Incident Management (TIM) Training: Make sure your department’s responders are prepared for a roadway incident. The Responder Safety Learning Network offers a TIM certificate as well as dozens of other free online TIM and roadway safety courses.
Watch Traffic Incident Safety Webinars: The NVFC offers a series of free recorded webinars and roundtable discussions relating to TIM and roadway incident safety.
Educate the Public: Let the public know their role in keeping the roadways safe for responders. Find resources to educate the public on safe driving with resources from the NVFC, Emergency Responder Safety Institute, and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
