Facebook Live: Navigating Generational Differences in the Volunteer Fire Service

April 19, 2022 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm EDT

Free

Volunteer emergency responders come from a variety of generations. Unfortunately, generational differences can lead to misunderstandings and affect volunteer recruitment and retention. Join Scott Wilbur, fire chief at the Bronson (MI) Fire Department; Jason Decremer, PhD, a member of the Connecticut West Incident Management Team in the Planning and Operations Section; Dr. Candice McDonald, director with the Cumberland Valley Volunteer Firemen’s Association and founder of Success Up Life; and Walter Campbell, recruitment & retention strategist at First Arriving, for a discussion on generational differences, what can be done to encourage cooperation, and how this can positively impact recruitment and retention. This discussion will be broadcast to the NVFC’s Facebook page on April 19 at 4pm ET. Can’t join on Facebook? Watch on Zoom instead: https://us06web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_SCKqP5XtSaOs1u_v_NaAew
