Why are you an NVFC member?
Access to more info on training and other opportunities within the volunteer fire world.

What is your occupation?
Investigator and volunteer firefighter

Why are you a volunteer firefighter, EMT, or rescue provider?
I want to serve and protect my community in ways not everyone can handle. Additionally, being a parent and mentor to 8+ kids, I want to be the best example I can be.

What year did you join the fire or emergency services?
2003

What are your memorable moments as a firefighter or EMS provider?
The most significant moments were responding to my neighbor’s home in Golden Valley, MN, on fire and being able to save his dog through skills learned from BART (basic animal rescue training) as well as getting my team on the task with better knowledge of the event than we usually have approaching a structure fire.

Also, the flood of 2016 in Lexington, OK, when I contributed to the rescue of two women stuck on a fence in a raging flood. No casualties in our response area for that crazy flood, and our department obtained water rescue equipment and training that I selected, after this experience.
