Title:
Captain
Department: Corning Rural Fire Department
Location:
Corning, CA

Why are you an NVFC member?
Lots of useful information and training.

What is your occupation?
Parts management

Why are you a fire service volunteer?
To help the community and county plus the state whenever needed. To learn everything I can about the fire service, including vehicle extrication and rescue.

What year did you join the fire or emergency services?
1993

What are your memorable moments as a firefighter or EMS provider?
Some of my first calls included children. Helping them get out of bad situations so they can have a chance at a normal life. Catching fires before they get to people’s homes and showing up at the station to find cookies and thank you cards from people. It always feels good to help people. And be appreciated. And you just try to do the best you can when those bad calls come along.

What contributions have you (and your department) made in your community?
Hopefully we contribute to our community every day.
