What is your occupation?
John Deere Ag Technician

Why are you a volunteer firefighter, EMT, or rescue provider?
To give back to the community and help out where I can. Ever since I can remember, I’ve always had an interest in firefighting .

What year did you join the fire or emergency services?
2006

What are your memorable moments as a firefighter or EMS provider?
Saved a house from a grass fire that started several out buildings very near the house. Only had my wildland gear, as we were paged to a grass fire, and had a local farmer with a water truck set up spray me down while I kept the house cool and tried to knock down the heat from the out buildings. Melted the vinyl siding and broke a couple windows, but the house stayed standing.

What contributions have you (and your department) made in your community?
We give back to the community where we can, whether it is donating time to help with any various events going on around town or out protecting the citizens and their farm grounds, which is their livelihoods, from wildfires.
