Support the NVFC On GivingTuesday

GivingTuesday is December 1, and people from around the world will be supporting causes they believe in. It is our hope that the National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC) will be included on the list of organizations that you will be donating to this holiday season.

Each and every day, more than 600,000 volunteer firefighters, EMS providers, and rescue workers in the United States dedicate their time, energy, and expertise to their communities with the understanding that their efforts are performed without pay. They put themselves at risk to protect and serve their neighbors, risks that have been heightened due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The NVFC exists to support these heroes, but we can’t do it alone.

Volunteers need to be well-trained, prepared, healthy, and equipped with the technology and tools to do their jobs safely. Unfortunately, budgetary constraints often mean departments are struggling to make ends meet. COVID-19 has hit volunteer departments especially hard, as tax revenues they rely on have fallen and traditional fundraising activities cancelled. The work the NVFC does is critical to support volunteer emergency responders and their communities. The NVFC serves as a unified voice for volunteers, providing advocacy on Capitol Hill and in federal agencies to garner legislation and funding that benefits these heroes. Our programs and initiatives address critical needs such as cancer prevention, recruitment and retention, funding, behavioral health, safety, training, and much more to ensure the volunteer fire and emergency services thrive.

We are asking you to support the NVFC by making a donation to help us further our efforts. Your commitment will enable us to provide tools, training, and resources to volunteers – so they can be strong for their crew, be prepared for every situation, and be ready to serve their communities.

This GivingTuesday and any day, help us fulfill our mission by making a donation here.
