NVFC Mourns the Passing of Longtime CEO Heather Schafer

The NVFC received a tragic blow last week with the passing of CEO Heather Schafer, who helmed the organization for 27 years. Heather was a passionate and tireless advocate for the volunteer fire, EMS, and rescue services, and her legacy will live on in the work the NVFC continues to do to support our nation’s volunteers. NVFC first vice chair Kevin D. Quinn will serve as interim CEO during the transition period, and the Executive Committee will launch a nationwide search for a permanent CEO in the coming weeks.
