New Ride With Us Episodes and PSAs Available to Help with Fire Department Recruitment

The National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC) has partnered with Cottage Lane Productions to develop two new episodes of the firefighter recruitment web series Ride With Us. The series takes prospective volunteers into the firehouse to show them what it’s like to be a volunteer firefighter.

In the episode entitled “The Key,” viewers are given a look at what it means to join the firefighter family, as symbolized by getting a key to the station once you become an official member of the department. The episode also highlights some of the gear firefighters wear to protect themselves. The other episode, entitled “Heights and Ladders,” teaches viewers about ladder trucks as well as some of the non-operational roles that volunteers can have in a fire department.

In addition to the full-length episodes, each episode is supplemented by a series of stand-alone public service announcements (PSAs). Departments can share the full episodes and the PSAs via web sites, social media, and during recruitment events to encourage the public to volunteer.

View the new episodes and PSAs on YouTube here. You can also download them from Vimeo here to incorporate into your department’s recruitment initiatives.
