Helping Responders Impacted by Disasters
September 7, 2021
Hurricanes, wildfires, flooding, and other disasters impact the same volunteer firefighters and EMS providers who are responding. The NVFC’s Volunteer Firefighter Support Fund is here to help. The fund provides a stipend to eligible volunteer first responders whose homes have been damaged or destroyed by a large-scale disaster such as Hurricane Ida or the wildfires raging in parts of the country. The fund relies entirely on donations, 100% of which go to responders in need. The Louisiana State Firemen’s Association has also established a fund to help firefighters impacted by Hurricane Ida in the state.
