FEMA Seeks Feedback on Simplifying Preparedness Grants

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has published a notice in the Federal Register seeking input on how to enhance the management and administration of its preparedness grant programs. These grants include the Assistance to Firefighters Grant and Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response grant, among others.

This national engagement will help FEMA better understand how to continue to assist the nation and first responders in building, sustaining, and improving their capability to prepare for, protect against, respond to, recover from, and mitigate terrorism and other high-consequence disasters and emergencies.

FEMA is seeking suggestions on how to:

  • Improve the management and administration of grant programs by simplifying application processes and improving customer service; and
  • Ensure greater accessibility and equity for under resourced populations.
