Recruit Volunteers with a FREE Movie Screening

The new documentary Odd Hours, No Pay, Cool Hat follows the inspiring journey of volunteer firefighters in communities across the U.S. as they encounter heart-breaking challenges and exhilarating triumphs to fulfill a single mission: serving their community. Heart-warming, humorous, and thrilling, this sweeping portrait of bravery will capture your heart and inspire.

The National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC) is a proud partner on this film and we’re encouraging local departments to host screenings and use it as an event to recruit more volunteers. The film will help us grow awareness of the invaluable work of volunteer firefighters. Hosting a screening event will connect you to more community members so you can tell them about your department’s needs and volunteer opportunities.

Hosting a screening is free and easy. Gather your friends, crew, colleagues, workout buddies, and others in your community for a fun movie night celebrating fire, EMS, and rescue volunteers.

When you sign up to host a screening, you’ll receive:

  • Free movie screening access
  • Free how-to-host guide
  • Free discussion guide
  • Free social media toolkit
  • Access to the Odd Hours support team for assistance
  • An unforgettable event with your friends, colleagues, and community

See this Community Screening Guide and fill out this form to register to host a screening. Once you fill out the form, the film team will be in touch to answer your questions and assist you along the way.
