Volunteer Spotlight: Margaret Fowke

Name: Margaret Fowke
Title: Volunteer EMT
Department Name: Silver Spring Fire Department
Location: Silver Spring, MD

Why are you an NVFC member?
Prior to becoming an EMT, I was a Registered Dietitian. I entered the emergency medical services field with very little experience. When the opportunity to join NVFC was presented, I viewed it as the perfect organization to expand my training opportunities. I attended my first NVFC Training Summit, June 20 -21, 2014 in Myrtle Beach, SC. I learned so much and was able to find contacts to help with resolving issues my local fire department was facing at the time. It has been well worth the investment to join NVFC.
