Webinar on September 18: Free Multicultural Resources and Opportunities
September 16, 2013
FIRE 20/20 is hosting a webinar at 1pm Eastern (10am Pacific) on September 18 entitled Free Multicultural Resources and Opportunities.
The fire service is facing the problem of not having enough money, people, resources, and time to connect with the communities they serve. To solve this problem, FIRE 20/20 suggests that the fire service proactively engage and build relationships with the different multicultural communities they serve to increase prevention, safety, and community support.
FIRE 20/20's free resource, the Partnering For Prevention Online Training Program, now available on the FireRescue1 Training Academy, teaches fire service personnel how to start working with their multicultural community members as involved partners, not just customers in crisis. Webinar attendees will be able to take a tour of the Partnering for Prevention Online Training Program, talk to one of the members who went through the pilot program, and learn more about the resources offered by the FireRescue1 Training Academy. Facilitating the webinar will be Larry Sagen, Executive Director of FIRE 20/20.
Panelists are:
- Greg Bogosian, Special Projects Manager, Praetorian Group, Inc.
- Greg Hartman, Battalion Chief, Renton Fire and Emergency Services
