Tribal Resource Guide Updated for 2013

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Office of Intergovernmental Affairs (IGA) announced the release of the updated Tribal Resource Guide, a comprehensive catalog of DHS resources available to Indian Country to keep tribal nations safe and secure.

Listed by DHS agency, the guide summarizes and provides links to training, publications, guidance, alerts, newsletters, programs, and services available to Tribal Nations. Some that are especially valuable include:

  • Ready Indian Country and tribal-focused courses at the Emergency Management Institute, via the Federal Emergency Management Agency
  • Assessments and analytic support from the National Gang Intelligence Center, through Customs and Border Patrol
  • A variety of training available to tribal law enforcement, fire personnel, and emergency managers from multiple agencies
  • Blue Campaign to Combat Human Trafficking, operated by Immigration and Customs Enforcement
  • A list of DHS grants available to tribal governments
