Training Spotlight: Wildland Fire Assessment Program
April 21, 2014
Wildfire Community Preparedness Day is May 3, and for a limited time the NVFC is offering its online Wildland Fire Assessment Program (WFAP) training for free. WFAP is a joint effort by the U.S. Forest Service and the NVFC to provide volunteer firefighters and auxiliary volunteers (such as Fire Corps members) with training on how to properly conduct assessments for homes located in the wildland-urban interface. This four-part train-the-trainer online course includes the following modules: understanding the WUI problem; identifying the zones; evaluating the home; and available resources. Take the course now through the NVFC Virtual Classroom.
