Each year, the National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC) recognizes achievement in the fire and emergency services through four annual awards. The nomination period for these awards is now open. Honor the outstanding individuals in your department by nominating them for an award. Recipients receive a trip to the Washington, DC, area, guest of honor status at the NVFC’s annual awards banquet, national recognition, and more. NVFC Lifetime Achievement Award

This award honors an individual who has been a volunteer firefighter for at least 20 years and whose remarkable achievements in the fire service and community exemplify outstanding performance. Submit your nomination.

NVFC Fire Prevention and Education Award

Nomination Deadline: March 1, 2016

Established in memory of volunteer firefighter Marc Mueller, this award honors a volunteer firefighter or non-operational volunteer (such as a Fire Corps member) who has made a significant contribution or achievement in the area of fire prevention. Submit your nomination.

NVFC Junior Firefighter of the Year Award

This award honors a junior firefighter who has gone above and beyond in their service to their fire department. In addition to the items noted above, the winner will also receive a $500 scholarship for college or other training. Submit your nomination.
