Resource Spotlight: Volunteer Firefighter Support Fund
August 4, 2014
In times of large-scale disaster, the first responders protecting their communities are often also among the victims. When a volunteer firefighter or EMT suffers property loss or damage in a state- or federally-declared disaster, they may be eligible to receive a $250 stipend from the Volunteer Firefighter Support Fund to help meet expenses in the immediate aftermath. This fund is entirely supported by contributions, with 100% of donations going directly to help first responders in need. So far, over half a million dollars have been distributed to volunteer firefighters and EMTs. The fund needs your help to continue to support those in need – learn more or make a donation today.
