The National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC) and Scott Safety have teamed up to provide five free health and wellness webinars to firefighters and emergency services personnel. The second course – THE ACCELERANT: Physiology of Weight Loss and Healthful Nutrition – will be held Wednesday, April 11, at 2:00 pm Eastern. Register now!

Taught by an ACE-certified instructor from L&T Health and Fitness, Physiology of Weight Loss and Healthful Nutrition reviews the effects of stress on the body, specifically as it relates to weight gain, and how to combat weight gain and hasten weight loss through fueling the metabolism to burn at a higher rate. The session also covers nutrition tips specific to fueling the metabolism with the right ratio components to accelerate the metabolic burn even more.

The webinar series is part of the NVFC’s Health and Wellness Advocate training initiative and is sponsored by Scott Safety. Each course focuses on a different aspect of health and wellness and the real-life implications for firefighters and emergency personnel. Participants are eligible to receive continuing education credit.

First responders are encouraged to take all five courses so they learn how to be an advocate for wellness in their department and equip themselves with the tools they need to implement a healthy lifestyle. Click here to learn more and view the full course schedule.
