July 2, 2012
The NVFC’s National Junior Firefighter Program will be holding two National Junior Firefighter Academies in the coming month. The in-person workshops feature sessions for both junior firefighters and junior firefighter program advisors as well as hands-on training activities.
Thanks to support from Firehouse Expo and California Casualty, a National Junior Firefighter Academy will be held in conjunction with Firehouse Expo in Baltimore , MD, on Saturday, July 21 from 8am-1pm. The event begins with a leadership panel presentation for junior firefighters and a workshop on serving as a youth mentor for junior firefighter program advisors. The group will then don gear and participate in a four-part training evolution, including a search and rescue simulation and thermal imaging drill. Register now.
Tyco International and Scott Safety have teamed up with the NVFC to hold another National Junior Firefighter Academy at the Scott Safety headquarters in Monroe, NC, on Saturday, September 29. The day will include a mix of classroom sessions, product demonstrations, a facility tour, and several hours of hands-on training.
