Pandemic and All-Hazards Preparedness Act Signed into Law

On February 28 and March 4, respectively, the House and Senate passed the Pandemic and All-Hazards Preparedness Act (PAHPA) of 2013 (H.R. 307). The bill amends the National Health Security Strategy (NHSS) to increase the surge capacity of emergency medical service systems and optimize a coordinated flexible approach to surge capacity.
