NVFC Participates in Smoke Alarm Summit

The National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC) was one of many national fire service organizations and stakeholder groups to attend the Smoke Alarm Summit: Evidence Informing Action event on March 31 in Baltimore, MD.

The Summit, hosted by Vision 20/20 and the Johns Hopkins Center for Injury Research and Policy, brought together expert stakeholders to develop a consensus set of recommendations that will help inform smoke alarm policy, practice, and research. The Summit is part of a Fire Prevention and Safety Grant awarded to Vision 20/20 to increase the number of working smoke alarms in the U.S. and increase the number of fire departments adopting community risk reduction concepts.
