NHTSA Releases National EMS Advisory Council Summary Report

On March 4, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s (NHTSA) Office of EMS released a summary report of recommendations made by the National EMS Advisory Council (NEMSAC) to both NHTSA and other federal EMS leaders. The report combines information from numerous NEMSAC documents and advisories and provides the council with a single resource for effectively communicating their recommendations to all EMS stakeholders. NVFC EMS/Rescue Section Chair Ken Knipper served on NEMSAC representing the volunteer EMS discipline for two terms, from 2009-2012. The current volunteer EMS representative on NEMSAC is Katrina Altenhofen, who had this article published in the Section newsletter last December.
