New Resources Available for National EMS Week

National EMS Week 2014 will take place from May 18-24. This year’s theme is “EMS: Dedicated. For Life.” This is a great opportunity to show your appreciation to the dedicated EMS providers in your department, highlight the role of EMS in your community, and recruit new members to your EMS team.

National EMS Week is sponsored by the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP). The week brings together local communities and medical personnel to publicize safety and honor the dedication of those who provide the day-to-day lifesaving services of medicine’s “front line.”

ACEP has released the online version of its National EMS Week Planning Guide on the EMS Week web site at www.acep.org/emsweek. The information and resources in this planning guide can be used to implement EMS Week initiatives as well as long-term public education and safety programs.

In addition, the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians offers the EMS Week Ideas web site at www.emsweekideas.org. The site provides ideas that can be implemented during National EMS Week and throughout the year.

Make sure your department takes the time to celebrate our nation’s EMS providers May 18-24. Start your planning today!
