New Free Field Interviews Program Available

The Firefighters Support Foundation (FSF) has released its newest free video program, The Narrative-Based Field Interview for First Responders. The program describes the powerful narrative-based approach to gathering accurate, actionable information from both cooperative and uncooperative subjects.

The three-step approach is useful in all first-responder situations: law enforcement, fire, EMS, S&R, and emergency management. It is applicable on a scene for use with witnesses, bystanders, suspects, and resource providers, even in short time-frames, and is based on the approach developed by law enforcement and arson investigators.

The presenter is Stan Walters, who has been researching and teaching interview techniques for over 30 years. The video program runs close to an hour and a half and is accompanied by a PowerPoint presentation. Individuals can view the programs at their leisure, while agencies can use the PowerPoint slides as distributed notes, run the video presentation, and pause the video to discuss the material.

Like all FSF programs, this program is free to all public safety professionals. Simply go to www.ffsupport.org to download your copy.
