National EMS Advisory Council Meets in Washington, DC

On January 29-30, the National EMS Advisory Council (NEMSAC), made up of 26 individuals representing various disciplines within the emergency medical services field who are appointed by the Secretary of Transportation, met in Washington, DC. NEMSAC provides advice and recommendations regarding EMS to the Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and through NHTSA to the Federal Interagency Committee on EMS (FICEMS).
At the meeting, NHTSA’s Office of EMS gave an update on its ongoing projects. Representatives from other FICEMS partners, including the Federal Communications Commission and the Department of Homeland Security, also made presentations. The full meeting agenda is posted below:
