NAEMT Releases EMS Fitness Guidelines

The American Council on Exercise, on behalf of the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT), has developed new EMS Fitness Guidelines to help EMS personnel get healthy. Lack of physical fitness within EMS agencies contributes to injuries and chronic illnesses, many of which are preventable. These recommendations are designed to help EMS practitioners live healthy and reduce risk of injury. Read press release and access the full EMS Fitness Guidelines. Also use the tools found on the National Volunteer Fire Council’s Heart-Healthy Firefighter web site to start focusing on fitness for yourself and your department.
