Log Your Volunteer Hours to Receive Rewards for You and Your Department
November 6, 2018
National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC) members have a longstanding tradition of volunteering. As emergency service volunteers, you are giving where it counts – the community you live in every day. With this in mind, the NVFC is proud to announce that we are partnering with Cabot Creamery Co-operative to promote volunteerism and reward those who serve.
In conjunction with Points of Light, National Cooperative Bank, and Create the Good, Cabot created Reward Volunteers, a free, easy way to track the time you spend volunteering in your community and to earn rewards for your contributions. Since the program started in 2012, over 440,000 hours were logged by nearly 5,400 selfless volunteers, to the benefit of more than 4,000 organizations…just like yours!
Use Reward Volunteers to log your volunteer hours for a chance to win prizes for yourself and for your local firehouse. Cabot awards amazing prizes every month from prize sponsors like King Arthur Flour, Kind Snacks, Ben & Jerry’s, Seventh Generation, as well as cash and prizes for the firehouse.
To participate, sign up at Reward Volunteers, choose National Volunteer Fire Council as your ‘on behalf of’ organization, add your local firehouse in the comment box, and log your volunteer hours. In addition to the monthly prizes, one dedicated NVFC member who logs their hours under the NVFC group through March 2019 will be chosen to win a spot for themselves and a guest on Cabot’s 2019 Celebrity Cruise!
Department leaders may also want to utilize this program as a way to provide extra incentives and rewards for their volunteers. Encourage everyone in your department to use the Reward Volunteers tool under the NVFC group.
