Join Online Letter Campaign to Support Fire Sprinkler Legislation!

The National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC) is working with the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (NFFF) to promote their effort to assemble a list of supporters of the Fire Sprinkler Incentive Act (FSIA), which would create a federal tax incentive for the owners of commercial property to retrofit structures with life-saving automatic fire sprinkler systems. FSIA is one of the NVFC’s top legislative priorities.

In addition to the obvious life and safety benefits associated with more extensive deployment of automatic fire sprinkler systems, passage of the Fire Sprinkler Incentive Act would also lower local fire department costs, lead to increased loan activity, reduce insurance claims and premium costs, create jobs in the sprinkler retrofitting and installation industry, and generate payroll tax revenue.

To participate in the campaign just go to this web site and submit your contact information. Prior to the National Fire and Emergency Services Dinner on May 9, letters with the names of FSIA supporters will be delivered to the appropriate House and Senate offices, asking for their co-sponsorship of the bill. Additionally, FSIA supporters may be followed-up with individually and asked to contact their U.S. Representative and/or Senators directly by phone or in-person.
