It’s National Preparedness Month: You Can Be the Hero

September is National Preparedness Month, and this year’s theme is “You Can Be the Hero.” Use this month to make sure your department is ready for disasters of all kind and to encourage your community to be prepared.

FEMA asks that stakeholders promote preparedness by joining the National Preparedness Community, finding or creating preparedness events in your community, joining regional groups in your area to connect and build relationships, and share best practices with other stakeholders. Use the National Preparedness Month Toolkit to find template newsletter articles, blogs, posters, and other materials to use in your internal and external communications.
