Help the NVFC Fulfill Our Mission
November 7, 2017
The volunteer fire and emergency services is a diverse and varied group of people. You are doctors, lawyers, teachers, owners, managers, and consultants. You work in construction, stores, factories, and in sales. You come from different backgrounds and experiences, and encompass all ages. You are co-workers, next door neighbors, friends, and families. But you all have one thing in common – you want to serve and protect your community.
At over 800,000 strong, volunteer firefighters, EMS providers, and rescue workers transition from everyday life to ‘super heroes’ in the blink of an eye. Your community relies on you to be there to respond, whether to a fire, medical emergency, car accident, hazardous materials incident, natural disaster, or anything else that gets thrown your way. Those you protect are counting on you to be prepared, well-trained, healthy, and safe, and they expect your departments to be equipped with the technology, tools, and equipment to get the job done.
You are the reason the National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC) exists. For over 40 years, we have been here to provide the advocacy on Capitol Hill and in federal agencies to garner support and legislation that benefits the volunteer fire service. We develop training, guidebooks, and resources to help meet department needs. We serve as the voice of the volunteer in standards-setting committees and national workgroups. We work to address critical needs such as cancer prevention, recruitment and retention, funding, behavioral health, and much more to ensure the volunteer fire and emergency services thrive.
We are here to support the volunteer first responder community, but we can’t do it alone. We need financial support and are asking you as we enter this season of giving to make a donation to the NVFC. Your commitment will help us provide the tools, training, and materials to support volunteers – so they can be strong for their crew, be prepared for every situation, and be ready to serve their communities.
#GivingTuesday is November 28 and kicks off the giving season. This global giving movement has been built by individuals, families, organizations, businesses, and communities in all 50 states and around the world. This is a time when people come together to support and champion the causes they believe in, and we hope the NVFC will be on your list.
Your donation helps the NVFC fulfill our mission. Show your support on #GivingTuesday or anytime by making your donation to the NVFC here.
