Fire Prevention Week Starts on Sunday
October 2, 2012
Fire Prevention Week is October 7-13. The best fire is one that never happens, so utilize this time to educate your community about how to prevent fires and other emergencies. This year’s theme is “Have 2 Ways Out,” which focuses on the importance of planning multiple escape routes in case of an emergency or fire. You can find resources for participating in Fire Prevention Week from the National Fire Prevention Association at www.firepreventionweek.org, from Fire Corps at www.firecorps.org/prevention, and from the U.S. Fire Administration at www.usfa.fema.gov.
