Fire Corps is Giving Away FREE Smoke Alarms
July 22, 2013
According to the United States Fire Administration, U.S. fire departments responded to 370,000 home structure fires in 2011. These fires caused 13,910 civilian injuries, 2,520 civilian deaths, and $6.9 billion in direct damage. Three out of five reported home fire deaths resulted from fires in homes with either no smoke alarm present or one was present but not operational.
To combat this unfortunate statistic, Fire Corps, in partnership with First Alert, is offering free smoke alarms for local Fire Corps teams to distribute and/or install in their communities. Departments can order 12 dual sensor, 24 photo, or 24 ion smoke alarms through the Fire Corps/First Alert Smoke Alarm Donation Program. Your department must be registered with Fire Corps in order to obtain these alarms.
Apply for your alarms today by filling out the Smoke Alarm Request Form. Quantities are limited and restrictions may apply.
Not registered with Fire Corps? Learn more about the program and what it can do for your department at www.firecorps.org.
