FIRE 20/20 to Host Webinar on Preventing Discrimination Lawsuits in your Fire Department
February 4, 2013
FIRE 20/20 is hosting a series of free webinars to help fire departments build and grow a qualified, inclusive, diverse, and safety-conscious workforce. The next webinar will be held on Wednesday, February 13 from 10-11am Pacific Standard Time (1-2:15pm Eastern) entitled Policy is not Enough: Preventing Discrimination Law Suits in Your Fire Department, Part II.
In this webinar, a panel of experts will continue the conversation about policy issues that impact your department – legally, ethically, emotionally, and culturally. Learn more about why just having policies in place is not enough.
Discussion items will include: probationary periods, hazing, social media, tattoo and piercing, impact on department morale, and an opportunity for participants to voice questions and concerns. It is not necessary to have attended Part 1 in January to attend this webinar.
Panelists are:
- John K. Murphy, JD, PA-C, MS, EFO, Deputy Fire Chief (Ret), Eastside Fire and Rescue (WA)
-
Beth Murphy, Ph.D., Clinical Psychologist and retired firefighter (Bellevue, WA)
