DESCRIPTION:Finding funding opportunities is only half the battle – telling your department’s story in a way that resonates with reviewers is what turns an application into an award. In this Roundtable Talk\, a panel of experts will shift the focus beyond federal grants to the smaller\, private funding opportunities that are often overlooked. Panelists will share real success stories\, practical tips for writing a compelling narrative\, and how to make the most of the grant resources and guidance available through your NVFC membership. This Roundtable Talk is sponsored by Responder Max.  \nPresenters: Breanna Adams\, Walter Campbell (Moderator)\, Dave Lewis\, Kait Meeker \nRegister

SUMMARY:In-Person - EV/AFV Incident Management: Safety and Response Techniques
DESCRIPTION:As the number of electric vehicles on the roadways increases\, it is important for first responders to understand how a response involving these types of vehicles is different than those with an internal combustion engine. This awareness and fundamentals course will introduce first responders to hybrid and electric vehicles\, share data and resources\, and equip first responders with the knowledge and tools to respond more safely when a hybrid or electric vehicle is involved in an incident. This training will require space outside for a hands-on component with an electric vehicle. \nInstructor: Brian Focht
