SUMMARY:In-Person - Wildland Fire Assessment Program (WFAP)
DESCRIPTION:The NVFC\, in partnership with the U.S. Forest Service\, offers an in-person training course to teach fire service volunteers how to properly conduct safety assessments for homes located in the wildland-urban interface and provide recommendations to residents to protect their property from wildfires. \nClassroom Session (Saturday\, October 24\, 2026 – 0800-1200 PT)\nYou’ll learn the fundamentals of assessing a home and working with residents to make their property\nmore resilient to wildfires. \nHands-on Training (Sunday\, October 25\, 2026 – 0800-1200 PT)\nPut it into practice! You’ll evaluate a home in the community to gain a better understanding of a home\nassessment and put classroom knowledge into action. \nInstructors: James Klyn and Steve McClintock
