EMS/Rescue Section Officer Nominations Due by February 1
January 14, 2015
Nominations for officers of the National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC) EMS/Rescue Section are due by February 1. The positions of Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary, and three Section Director-at-large positions will be up for election at the Section meeting in April. The six elected officers, along with one director appointed by the NVFC Chairman and one representative appointed by the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT), comprise the EMS/Rescue Section Executive Committee.
All Section members are eligible to be nominated for an office. To nominate yourself or someone else for an office, submit your nomination to the NVFC using the contact information below no later than February 1. NVFC staff will then submit the list of nominations to the Section Secretary. If no more than one eligible member is nominated for any of the offices to be filled, the Section Secretary will cast one ballot for those nominated. If more than one eligible member is nominated for any office, an election will be held at the annual meeting of the Section, which will take place on Friday, April 17, from 10am-noon EDT in conjunction with the NVFC’s Board meeting in Alexandria, VA.
Notification of the election, along with absentee ballot instructions, will be published in the Section newsletter and posted on the Section web site at least 30 days prior to the election. Absentee ballots may be requested no later than two days prior to the election and submitted via electronic means up to one day prior to the election. The results of the election will be made official at the annual meeting of the Section.
