DHS Announces Nomination Period for the 2013 Rick Rescorla National Award for Resilience

The nomination period for the 2013 Rick Rescorla National Award for Resilience is now open. Volunteer first responders, including firefighters and EMS providers, other individuals not employed by a government entity, and non-governmental organizations are among those eligible for the award.

“The Rick Rescorla National Award for Resilience recognizes response to a catastrophic incident and leadership in fostering resilient and prepared communities,” said Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano. “Homeland security begins with hometown security, and we should recognize citizens who demonstrate this spirit of resilience and strength, serving as models for communities across our nation.”
