2014 Public Safety Officer Medal of Valor Nomination Period Now Open

Nominations are now being accepted for the 2013-14 Public Safety Officer Medal of Valor. This is the highest national award for valor by a public safety officer. To be eligible, the nominee must have exhibited exceptional courage, extraordinary decisiveness and presence of mind, and unusual swiftness of action, regardless of his or her own personal safety, in an attempt to save or protect human life, where the act is deemed to be above and beyond the call of duty.
